I am often asked about the role of an Aging Life Care Manager and how it differs from other professionals providing services to seniors.
An Aging Life Care Manager is committed to assisting clients in aging well, while also enhancing the quality of life for clients and their family members. This stage of a family’s journey can be complex. Family caregivers often experience significant stress—physically, mentally, and financially. Those who wish to assist may reside far away. Adult children frequently find themselves balancing the care of their own families with that of their aging parents. Our professional expertise and understanding of best practices can make this journey smoother. Each family is distinct. As Aging Life Care Managers, we utilize our insights and skills across 8 key areas to develop a care plan tailored to your family’s specific needs and strengths.
An Aging Life Care Manager distinguishes themselves by maintaining a steadfast commitment to the needs of both the client and their family. While others might offer services at a lower cost, the quality of what you receive is often affected by the payment model. Case managers who work for hospitals or insurance companies are part of the healthcare system. They are competent professionals, but their primary focus is to address patient issues within the institution and optimize service use for their organization.
We are community-based and assist aging adults wherever they reside. We ensure continuity of care across all environments, involving the family and aiming to enhance the quality of life for both the older adult and their adult children.
Senior advisors receive referral fees for recommending elder care facilities. Typically, their knowledge is more limited, and they may lack the professional degree required to be experts in the 8 crucial areas of elder care. Only facilities that agree to pay a finder's fee are included in their recommendations. There might be better options available, but they will not be suggested if the facility does not pay for referrals.
Since our compensation comes directly from you, we maintain independence and objectivity. Our complete attention is dedicated to the needs of your family and your elderly loved ones. We utilize our extensive expertise and years of training to address your specific situation. When it comes to safety and quality of life, you deserve the finest!
