Case managers who work for hospitals or insurance companies are part of the healthcare system. Typically, their knowledge is more limited, and they may lack the professional degree required to be experts in the 8 crucial areas of elder care. Only facilities that agree to pay a finder's fee are included in their recommendations. There might be better options available, but they will not be suggested if the facility does not pay for referrals.
